Coco's is the place to be with a group of friends to chill out and have a relaxed dinner. Along with TexMex Mexican restaurant and Sundowner pub, Coco's Bar and grill are housed in the same building.
This open terrace restaurant is divided into two parts, one is for couples and another for families. As you make your way up the stairs, the cane-panelled doorway and resonance of soft music being played in the restaurant prepare you for what's to come. The thatch-and-bamboo open-air theme looks impressive. The elevated portico with low-seated divans and cane lampshades seem ideal.
As you settle down with a pint of beer, smoking the hookah and munching starters, the ambience takes precedence. Cocktails like the white-rum-based Costa de Sol, or the gin-based Tango Woo Woo are good bets. For the mocktail clientele, Coco's Lucida di Lemon and Apple Shiner are recommended.
Coco's serves scrumptious Continental, Indian and Chinese cuisine as well. In the continental menu the fish finger in Tartar sauce and the Lamb Toronto gel well with the drinks. Team it with Lamb Chomps or the Barbeque Chicken, both served with mashed potatoes and garlic bread. You can even mix and match with kebab platter, or delights from the tandoor as starters and noodles for the main course. The dessert section, however, lacks temptations.
The ambience of the restaurant is pretty decent, but the place is right next to the road linking TDP office with Jubilee Hills check post, so be prepared to hear the din of traffic. Customer service is decent. Orders are taken promptly and you do not have to wait too long for the order to arrive.
Prices are not heavy on the pocket. A beer here will cost you 125 bucks.
All in all, the place is a decent for eating out and I recommend it for a change.
